| Tiger skin seized on Indo-Nepal border
A
large tiger skin was seized yesterday morning, 18 January 2012, by
officials of the Naxalbari Customs Division on the Indo-Nepal border at
Panitanki in Darjeeling District of West Bengal, NE India. A 60 year
old Nepalese citizen was arrested. He is said to be a resident of
Lumbini in eastern Nepal. A large amount of cash was also recovered
from the accused. Customs officials said that it was the first time
they had seized a tiger skin at this border post. However, they had
earlier seized two leopard skins and a rhino horn.
