Asian Conservation Awareness Programme - India

The Asian Conservation Awareness Programme (ACAP) is a multi-media campaign that is being undertaken by WildAid in partnership with the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF), both UK-based NGOs. The programme has run successfully in South-east Asia where it increased education on conservation, raised awareness, and reduced consumer demand for endangered species’ products.

In 2003, ACAP was extended to India in collaboration with WPSI. ‘ACAP India’ is building a high profile multi-media campaign that is designed to raise awareness about the crisis facing Indian endangered species such as the tiger, rhino, elephant, turtle and bear as a result of growing consumer demand for their body parts and products.
