Tiger Skin Seized near Bandipur 


25 August 2005

One tiger skin was seized by the Karnataka Police on the evening of 24 August 2005, near Bandipur Tiger Reserve.

The police recovered the skin during a routine vehicle check at Gundalpet check-post. Two men have been arrested. One of the accused is a resident of Karnataka. The other is an ex-serviceman, and belongs to Tamil Nadu. He is believed to have strong connections with local politicians in the area.

The police are still investigating the case.
