Three
rhino horns were seized in Singtam, East Sikkim, on 6th July 2005. This
is the first major wildlife seizure in Sikkim. Working on a tip-off,
the police conducted a raid in which three rhino horns were seized and
two people were arrested. The accused said that they were given the
animal articles by a businessman from Assam. One of the accused has
been detained for further questioning. The case has now been handed
over to the Wildlife Department.
